FIELDMARSCHALL GERD VON RUNDSTEDT LETTERS
VON RUNDSTAND (1875 – 1953) German field marshal who led the blitzkrieg attack on France, seizing the country within two weeks, defeated by Allied forces in Normandy and in the desperate Battle of the Bulge. War-date ‘Gerd’ and also signing ‘von Rundstedt’ in the return address area and the address (mailed to his wife), written on both sides of a Feldpost correspondence postcard. Feb. 9, 1941. However, this letter falls in the period after the fall of France and during planning for Barbarossa. Fine. Also a Hoffmann postcard portrait of the general, inscribed and signed by his widow on verso. Two pieces. RARE
