RUSSIAN FORCED LABORER CAMP INFORMATION CARD, Information card with photo kept by German occupation forces in Russia, 2pp. 8″ x 6″, July, 1942. The prisoner, Tichon Krotschak, is shown in a 2″ x 3″ photo bearing a defiant stare with his prisoner number affixed to his chest. His thumb prints were also applied to the card. This 22 year-old “Civilian Worker in Soviet Russia” is described as a farm and unskilled laborer. Notes on the verso indicate that he escaped on Aug. 16, 1942 and was captured eight days later. His behavior resulted in his dispatch to a prison camp in Linz, most likely Mauthausen.RARE
