Munich 1943 letter from Martin Bormann, bold signature in ink BORMANN *RARE*
Partly translated,
on official letterhead, 1pp. 4to., Jan. 17, 1943, to the commander of the SS, HEINRICH HIMMLER (1900-1945). In large part: ‘Dear Party Comrade Himmler! In the attachment, I am sending you a copy of a letter dated December 10, which I only received in copy from Reichsleiter Bouhler on January 15, as the original went missing in the mail. I am also including the record of my response given to Mr. Reichsleiter Bouhler today.’
PHILIPP BOUHLER (1889-1945) supervised Hitler’s euthanasia program which ordered the ‘mercy killings’ of thousands of retarded, deformed and mentally ill Germans. With his wife, he committed suicide as American troops closed in.
