FERDINAND SCHORNER AND WALTHER WENCK, SIGNED DOCUMENT, SCARCE TWO SIGNATURES
Great partly-printed , Headquarters of the High Command of Army Group South Ukraine, May 30, 1944, a very positive military evaluation of Colonel Hugo Sommer, 20th Motorized Division. The document is signed by two prominent German officials: FERDINAND SCHORNER (1892 – 1972), German field marshal, highly successful during the German campaigns in Poland and the Balkans, commanding the 98th Mountain Regiment, and WALTHER WENCK (1900 – 1982), German general who headed the 6th Army and near war’s end commanded the non-
existent 12th Army, created largely to placate Hitler. Schorner signs in blue ink as Commander-in-Chief of the Army Group South Ukraine, while Wenck signs in pencil as Chief of the General Staff. NICE AND VG CON.
