KARL WOLFF (1906-1975) Colonel-general in the Waffen-SS, liaison officer for Himmler with Hitler, German military governor of Northern Italy. Typed 5.5 x 4 in., Apr. 26, 1937 in full: ‘The Reichsfuhrer-SS requests you to send written confirmation to SS Oberfuhrer von Humann, showing that Humann is the Reichsfuhrer-SS’s appointee, with full powers, for the Organization of German Front Line Fighters’ Association’. Initialed also by KURT DALUEGE (1897-1946), Chief of Security Police in the SD central office, appointed SS-Oberstgruppenfuehrer (1942), succeeded Heydrich as Deputy Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. Hanged by the Czechs in 1946. Trimmed closely on all four sides, else very good. Rolf von Humann (1885-1961) was an SS brigade leader, a field commander in southern France, and a member of the Reichstag. He is remembered particularly for the terror he unleashed as an SS and police leader in Augsburg against those resisting the NSDAP
