RARE WWII PROPAGANDA BOOK “THE NEW ORDER”, Book of anti-Fascist illustrations, “The New Order”, by Arthur Szyk, [New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons], 1941. 43pp. 8″ x 10″, features many half-tone and color illustrations, most satirizing the Axis leaders and soldiers. The figures are detailed, often to the point of being grotesque, which was surely the artist’s intention. Among the highlights is “A Madman’s Dream”, which depicts Hitler sitting in a large throne atop a bearskin rug with Jewish features, flanked by Himmler, Goebbels, Goering, Hirohito, Mussolini, and other, facing Uncle Sam and John Bull in chains. Syzk’s work would be featured throughout the war on the covers of TIME, Esquire, and Collier’s magazines, and in a multitude of newspapers, on buildings, and in advertisements. The binding is loosening but still intact, minor stains on the covers, toning on the page edges throughout. The dust jacket is missing, else very good. A VERY RARE AND GREAT BOOK
